Having emerged as a luminary of the Los Angeles Beat Scene, Leaving Records founder Matthewdavid (Matthew David McQueen) has immersed himself for several years in the rich, neglected archive of New Age sound/culture, stewarding a kind of New New Age sensibility into being. He launched Leaving Records as a music blog in 2008 and has since cultivated it as an expanding community of artists and enthusiasts, releasing music by Julia Holter, Laraaji, Bauhaus, Green-House, Ana Roxanne and many others. Matthewdavid's new album Mycelium Music, constitutes a synthesis of his aesthetics, in which the digital and the organic, the earthen and the aethereal, the bloom and the rot, all collide and coexist.
